Askai Championship stipulation 'to be changed'

LAS VEGAS---Divas Unleashed is to announce on the next Exile episode that the stipulations of the Askai Championship are to be changed, Newswire has exclusively discovered. According to our sources, the weight limit of the Askai Championship which is currently set at 130lbs is to be abolished and replaced with a new system of contendership for the belt.

The new system would turn the Askai Championship from a 'cruiserweight' championship into a 'newcomers' championship which would state that divas who want to challenge for the belt must have joined the company with the last year. The exact limits for eligibility are still being discussed but it is believed that the time frame could range from the last 12 months to the last 16 months (since the challenger signed their contract).

Divas Unleashed have reportedly decided to introduce this new stipulation due to confusion over the weight limit and that a majority of the divas joining the company in recent years have been on the skinnier side which placed almost everyone in the division, making the stipulation almost redundant. It's also been noted that this change has been thought out for quite some time and is to 'freshen up' the title belt.

A source said: "I think what they're planning is to do is to create an opportunity for new stars joining the company, it's almost like bait on a hook. Divas Unleashed went from being unchallenged to having two new big rivals in 3WL and Ring of Beauty, they want their monopoly back. So this almost seems like a way of attracting and inspiring young wrestlers ahead of their contemporaries, and even poaching some of their rival's stars, too."

Kitty Cummings, a teenage rookie herself, is to remain the championship holder but with a seeming downturn of fresh talent in DU, she may find herself unchallenged for a short while. Alongside Project Diva, this is seemingly Divas Unleashed's way of injecting more life into the company by ensuring that it has talented stars to carry it through generation after generation.

More 'changes' are expected in the coming weeks in response to 3WL's recent streak of ratings success and Ring of Beauty's continued North Korea-style isolation from the women's wrestling world, a stance which is said to be making everyone 'nervous'. Some divas are expected to be released from their contract as well as talent being shifted around internally with rumours of plans to launch a new website and image but nothing of yet has been confirmed.

I think this would actually be a good move for the belt because the Rockford and Askai divisions have kept overlapping in recent years so this is an effective way of separating them. The weight limit was good for about two years but then it started to get a little silly because people seemed to adjust their characters to qualify, we have some skinny bitches here, and this will be a good way to reward newer people who have joined and thank them for their participation.

I wouldn't be surprised if Tori Marie is seething with rage right now though.
