The Sanctuary, I gotz permission! Options

'The Sanctuary' is a thing, made of stuff, from a guy, who likes zombies. And who doesn't like zombies? Unless you actually are a character from a George Romero film or Resident Evil game made flesh (and if you're Leon, feel free to pop around my house for tea sometime, you sexy thing), zombies are awesome. Sadly, they have very little place in e-wrestling as a hobby...unless you're writing some damn strange promos. Actually, I think I did do a House of the Dead spoof as an RP elsewhere once, but that's beside the point.

Anyway, a dude called Jesse Gunn (probably not his real name, but this is THE INTERNETZ) has decided to rectify that, and the result is 'The Sanctuary'. It's competitive creative writing, like what we do here, but without the wrestling and with all individual pieces kept within one overruling world. It's set in the near future when, yes, an undead uprising is in full swing; mankind's numbers are dwindling, civilisation is grinding to a halt, and the few lucky souls who aren't yet shambling corpses are in for a great many rough nights. We're currently running on a weekly schedule; everyone involved RPs, and the weakest 2 are used to determine which characters are eliminated over the course of each new episode (results show, basically). Eliminations can involve being trapped, arrested/detained or, yes, getting eaten. Fun!

Obviously, this won't be to everyone's tastes; the schedule is a lot tighter than around here, and the setting imposes some limits (but not too many, IMO) on your scope when it comes to writing. And I suppose some people might not like zombies (what's wrong with you?!). But I'd really like it if you could all just take a look. If nothing else, read the results under the 'Episodes' board on the forum, 'cause they're brilliantly written.




(Final Note: If you do decide to sign up, please note that game 1 cannot be joined, as it's already underway. Game 2, however, is due to start very soon, so don't panic. In the meantime, just troll around the boards. Or something.)
